Today I was searching through the TV listings trying to find something to watch and came across the channel logo. They were airing a sketch comedy show with a gay and lesbian theme. It was pretty funny. It’s apparently a TV channel “for” gay people. I started thinking about it and realized that there isn’t “white” TV. It’s like there’s BET, Latino TV, gay and lesbian TV, but there isn’t white TV. There is TV for kids, women’s TV, and men’s TV. TV for gamers, people who like to cook and watch food, decorate their homes, decorate themselves, etc. I don’t find it good or bad that there isn’t white TV, just interesting that almost every demographic has a station to watch but there isn’t “white TV”, TV made for white people. I wonder what would be shown on the station if there were one. Kind of like I wonder if BET, the Latino station, and Logo all have similar shows with similar issues but BET has black people, the Latino station is spoken in Spanish, and Logo has same sex couples. You know the same play with different actors. I don’t know ‘cause I don’t watch those particular stations. I watch the food network and cartoons. I wish they had a TV station about books and authors. That’s my demographic.
